Recovery Room

I made it through surgery. It took about 2 hours. I am now in lala land in the PICU.

Pre-Op

I am about to go in for my surgery. Last night they tried to put in an IV line...they poked me nine times and failed...what am I a voodoo doll? Good thing it was Auntie Marilyn and not Mommy who was with me...or those nurses would have gotten a tongue lashing and they would felt like voodoo dolls getting stuck with needles.

Hospital Gowns

I checked into the hospital today on Vetern's Day (Rememberance Day in Canada). I am having my ileostomy reversed tomorrow, where they will reattach my small intestine to my large intestine. I haven't had a bowl movement since June 13 and I really look forward to squeezing one out! Mommy and Daddy have had it pretty easy and haven't had to change a stinky diaper yet.

It's kinda of scary being back in the hospital...I've been connected back to all these monitors and this time I have to wear this ugly hosptial gown with my butt flapping in the breeze. But luckily Auntie Marilyn is here helping. She fly in from Toronto on Tuesday last minute after Godmother Cindy got sick and wasn't able to come up and help. We didn't want to take a chance of me getting sick days before my surgery. So it was Auntie Marilyn to the rescue! Thank you Auntie Marilyn for flying cross country to help out Mommy and Daddy this week and staying in the hospital with me tonight before my surgery with Mommy.

Bye Bye Sweetie

Mommy's oldest doggie passed away on November 10 at 4am. Sweetie was over 19 years old. I'll miss you Sweetie...Daddy says you were a very fiesty and tough little bitch!

You are now reunited with Mei Mei...(I got to meet Mei Mei when I was still in Mommy's tummy...Daddy sneaked her into the hospital when Mommy was on bed rest. Mei Mei passed away at the hospital...she was 18 year old)...

Sweetie and Mei Mei have been reunited and can share a bed together again....Rest in Peace!

Meeting Grandpa

My Grandpa came to visit and meet me for my welcome home party back in October. He's really funny cause he acts just like a kid when he sees me. I'll post pictures from the party soon.

Grandma and Grandpa came for my party and then went to LA. The day they were going to fly back to Toronto, Daddy called them to come back up because things got a bit mixed up with my Nanny taking vacation. So they flew back up to the Bay Area to help out.

My First Halloween Party

I got invited to my first Halloween party! California Pacific Medical Center (where I was born) holds an annual NICU Reunion and Halloween Party for all the babies that were patients. It's been going on for 42 years...wow that must be a really long time because it's the same age as Daddy.

So I decided to dress up like a little 'Cheeky Monkey'.

When I putt my costume on Mommy says I look just like Daddy...who was born in the year of the Monkey.

What do you think?

And you think a wedgie hurts...

Today I got a barium scan...not too much fun. Think of it as a million times worst than getting an "Atomic Wedgie" but I thought I looked cute in the hospital gown.

For those of you who don't know what an Atomic Wedgie is...imaging having your underwear pulled from behind all the way over your head.

Mommy tried to calm me by giving me a bottle but I felt sorry for Daddy because he had to hold me arms down during the scan. I had to get a barium enema because the surgeon wants to check if everything is okay with my large intestine before scheduling my reattachment surgery. They do it under a fluoroscope, which is basically a real-time x-ray and the barium is used as a contrast to show the internal structures of my bowls. The not so fun part is that they have to get the barium in me via an enema. Needless to say it was quite uncomfortable and I let Daddy and everyone in the room know, just how uncomfortable it was. Imagine putting a pen up your butt...but remember my butt is much smaller than your butt.

Here are some pictures of the scan...you can see the long thing they used to put in the barium enema.

.

The only good thing is that Daddy promised to buy my a pony!

My surgery is now tentatively scheduled for November 12.
